Right??? OMG, the Tarot 5s consistently kick my ass. I'm so glad you like the Tarot Test Kitchen! I'm super excited about my next post in the series (can't reveal anything yet!)
Oh yay! I LOVE the idea for this series and can’t wait to read more. And am also super intrigued by your arithmancy—definitely adds another pattern/nuance, as you say. Fun.
Thanks so much Tali! Look for another long form post soon about applying Name-Key Arithmancy to Hannah Elizabeth Fofana’s The Field Tarot, my favorite deck 🃏🔮
Thank you for using my spread as your first 'test'! The 'Tarot Test Kitchen' is such an inspired idea - I can't wait to read more of them. I've particularly enjoyed seeing your method in reading the cards and how you've added that extra layer of depth with the keys and arithmancy (both new to me but now I'm super intrigued!) Really grateful to you for sharing your experience 🧡
Thank you kindly Amy! It was my honor to find your words (or did they find me?). My next Tarot Test Kitchen installment is coming soon, and I can’t wait to hear what you think!
This 'Tarot Test Kitchen' is a really great idea! I certainly look forward to participating as it goes.
My pull:
Pos. 1 - What can I feel proud of right now? Page of Cups. -- Starting to seriously move ahead with something that I love; seeing the pathway forward with more clarity than I ever felt before.
Pos. 2 - What pressures do I need to release? King of Cups -- Feeling a need to be perfect and wise about that; it is best to meet things where I'm at, understanding that improvement will come in time.
Pos. 3. - How can I honor where I am? Seven of Swords -- Take what is offered as I move forward with this; don't avoid what others offer due to feelings of inadequacy.
The first two snapped easily to my mind with what is going on in my life right now. The Seven of Swords took a bit of contemplation! 😎
Those pesky Sevens always give me pause! Thanks so much for participating and sharing your take on Amy's spread. Were all of your cards upright? Do you do reversals? I can't remember the answer, though I'm sure it's come up before.
I do read reversals, but I don't intentionally create reversals within my decks. They just happen naturally due to my inability to shuffle the cards with any measure of grace! So, I do read them, but they are fairly rare in my spreads.
It's all coming back to me now! I don't remember if it was in one of your articles or a comment elsewhere, but I recall the "clumsy shuffling" bit now. I also struggle to shuffle Tarot cards the way they are "supposed" to be shuffled. I have absolutely no ability to do the cards-in-one-hand-grab-random-cards-with-the-other technique, so I do the standard bridge shuffle that I learned as a kid. Much like when I was little and playing cards were slightly "too big" to shuffle, I pushed through with my adult-sized hands and the Tarot deck until I could do it. Stiffer cardstock like what Liminal 11 uses is harder to shuffle this way, but I manage.
If they still had carnival sideshows, I'm pretty sure I could get a job as "Man With Zero Dexterity Trying To Shuffle Tarot Cards." It would be great entertainment for the children as the cards flew to the floor.
I've thought about doing the bridge shuffle, as is done with playing cards, as I can accomplish that a bit better, but never have as I've always been worried about the repeated bending harming the cards. I presume this to be an irrational fear, as it surely can't be good for them to go flying all over hell and back! 😁
I love the concept for the test kitchen, and your interpretation of the cards which came up Margaret!
Especially the part about being hard to recover from tarot 5s. So true for me 🤣

Yes, all upright.

Ha ha, it’s a “toss” up!
Yep!
